Everyone loves sex. And everyone loves tea – unless it is not consensual. That is the brilliant premise behind this animated PSA by the Thames Valley Police in England. It was created as part of the department’s #ConsentisEverything campaign.
Marketing Mash-up: A New Series
The Oxford Dictionary defines mash-up as “a mixture or fusion of disparate elements.” Just when you think you’ve seen it all, someone comes up with a remarkably unique business model or marketing approach. I’ve been saving up a few of these to share with you.
Marketing Monday
This week’s Marketing Monday features Apple’s tribute to Muhammad Ali, Visa’s custom jewelry for Olympic athletes, and some inspiration to improve your brainstorming and productivity.
A Wonderful Invention: Noti-Fly (A Zipper That Texts)
This is one of those inventions where I immediately thought two things:
‘Why hasn’t anyone thought of that before?’
and
‘Wait, what, what, what…really? Seriously?’
Marketing (the day after) Monday
I was pleased to see the MLB honor the military in a big way on Memorial Day. As I watched my Red Sox take on the Orioles, I admired both teams special camouflaged caps and uniforms. What a fantastic way to tip their hats to those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and show respect for those serving in the military. What a pitch perfect strategy to connect with a niche audience.
A Creative High Five for Organic India Tea Packaging

Marketing Monday
This week’s Marketing Monday features a smack-talking poster, a Zika-fighting, mosquito-killing billboard, artfully painted Google data centers, a makeover of Apple’s flagship store, and some inspiration from an Italian illustrator.
A Wonderful Invention: Uslon Swimwear
When I took up the sport of triathlon a decade ago, I had a major hurdle to overcome – a lifelong fear of the water. Though I took lots of swim lessons as a kid, I could never comfortably complete a lap. I could run a marathon. I couldn’t swim a lap. Which is why I’m so excited about this new invention, a swimsuit designed to prevent drowning.
Marketing Monday
This week’s Marketing Monday unwraps some unexpected creativity, an utter revolt to a new rebrand, reflections on what makes a dream project (and where you’re not likely to find it), and how a client’s budget gets blown to smithereens. Okay, I added those last two words to lure you in and have fun.
“Brands Are People, Too” Series
There’s a lot of talk about branding these days. (Which I still find refreshing as the need for it gains more recognition and respect.) And a big part of branding in this “new normal” is social media. What fascinates me the most about social media? It’s not the latest apps and platforms. It’s not the underlying battle between traditional marketing and digital marketing. No, what intrigues me is when I see companies and organizations dare
