This week’s Marketing Monday features an impromptu pro bono assignment, this year’s best April Fools’ pranks by major brands, a long list of resources for freelancers, and an advertising award show I had never heard of and would probably be laughed off the stage for entering:
- The Power of Words (shown above, via Jeff Lizik at InspiredRevolution.com) is an example of what a difference the right words can make.
- Adweek’s April Fools’ Day 2016: Our Foolishly Giant List of the Best Brand Hoaxes: See all of this year’s coolest and silliest pranks. Which one is your favorite?
- 99 Insanely Useful Resources for Freelancers (via Cameron Chapman at Skillcrush.com). Oh, it has plenty of amazing resources for those who don’t work for 1099’s, too.
- All sign spinners point to North Hollywood’s AArrow, the industry leader. This interesting piece by NPR describes the art of sign spinning and how competitive it can be. Yes, they even have their own award show.
There you have it. A little fuel to fire your creative and strategic thinking. Do you have one to share? Drop me a line at me@ameliaostroff.com or leave a comment. Have a great week!
